As the winter snows melt each spring, mosquitoes begin invading Laura's beautiful 1930s neighborhood near Niagara Falls, New York.
Using a 12 ft x 42 ft piece of white Heavy-Duty Mosquito Netting, Laura completely wrapped her patio, protecting her outdoor dining area from mosquitoes and flies.
Laura picked up a $10 heavy-duty staple gun from her local hardware store and used it to staple the mosquito netting to the wood framing of her patio. Laura used enough staples to ensure that the weight of the netting would be evenly distributed across the wooden frame, which is very important in case of high winds. If Laura did not use enough staples, then each staple would have to hold up more weight and endure more tension and this could cause the staples to pull out of the framing, especially in high winds. Mosquito Nets USA recommends one staple every 2 to 3 inches around any wood frame.
Laura ended up having a lot of netting left over at the bottom, so she rolled up that excess netting to create a heavy skirt around the bottom, ensuring that no mosquitoes could come through underneath.
With mosquito netting covering all three sides of her patio, Laura and her family can now enjoy weekend lunches in their outdoor dining space without being bothered by mosquitoes or flies!
